About Ostara

Ostara Nutrient Recovery Technologies Inc. is a Vancouver-based company founded in 2005 to develop and commercialize proprietary technologies that recover nutrients from liquid sewage and recycle them into environmentally-friendly slow release fertilizer.

Ostara's lead technology platform, developed at the University of British Columbia, recovers nutrients, such as phosphorus and ammonia, from sewage sludge liquids that would otherwise be released into the environment.

Ostara's technology, named PEARL^TM Nutrient Recycling Process, reduces the amount of pollutants released into the environment, helps sewage treatment plants reduce operating costs and meet environmental regulations and provides municipalities with revenue from the sale of the recycled phosphorus into fertilizer.

This fertilizer is the only environmentally-safe and slow-release commercial fertilizer on the market today. It is currently being marketed throughout North America, under the brand-name Crystal Green®.
